In the US we essentially have a version of China’s “once untrustworthy, always restricted” policy. If you are a whistle blower, even for just pointing out the waste of money, you are toast. Having also experienced this, it is clear why the timid will simply “go along to get along”. The other word for timid is coward (see Rev 21:8).

After doing software for 4+ decades it becomes a bit of a habit. If I had enough sense before I started, a farm with chickens is a much better idea.
