The July 5, 2021 voicemail was done on video and I mentioned picking up Lynn off the floor as Gary could not help from his wheelchair. It had an impact on me doing that for a woman and it reminded me so strongly of doing it for Aaron Ketrow who died shortly afterward. This morning Lynn died. She was 63 and in poor health. I did spend a very short time with Gary and he is surviving but wanted to be alone. My plan is to check on him tomorrow. In some ways this is very reminiscent of my friend John Painter who in his 50s died and his wife later stated to me that it was difficult for her, but she thought it would be harder for me as my wife is still alive. I think she is right. Both Lynn and Gary have stated that they believe in god, but there is no indication they know God. I wonder about my own family. Statistically the odds are that Jim Cross will be the next in the family to pass. Will he reconcile with me before that? I have continued to wonder about the Pharisee and the Tax Collector in Luke 18. Note verse 9. If any of you still pray, please consider Gary. I know what it is like to suddenly be alone. I love my family. A hand offering grace is still reaching out to any one of you. |
