In junior high school, 1968-1970, it was required for us guys to do chin ups and various other things. I was pathetic and could not do them. In recent months I have been able to do as many as four consecutive, but they are very bad form, with an emphasis on bad. I still cannot do one using my arms only, but require a bit of a jump. However, I can now get my chin above and in front of the bar. For a 65-year-old, I’m pleased. While I am striving to be able to do one with the strength of my arms only, I have recently tried to hold myself above the bar for an extended period of time. My goal was 10 seconds, and this is only 9, but it is 9!!! What will I be like when I am 70? |
