As the Taliban took control of Afghanistan earlier this month, displacing hundreds of thousands of people who fled its rule, thousands of children became separated from their parents.

They are likely to be put into orphanages - along with the other children whose parents died during 40 years of conflict.

The Taliban says the war is over but fears are growing over the plight of these orphans.

Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford reports from an orphanage just north of the capital, Kabul, Afghanistan.
