Obviously after Isaac’s email from yesterday he is the focus today. It is in video form and took 25 minutes. If you have eyes to see, you will find in it an act of love toward Julia, Charlotte, James, and most notably Isaac. It is not the fluff you will get from most places. It is not the abandonment you will get from the institutional church. It is not the model of Jim Cross, Render Caines, or Chris Bitterman. This is an example of one foul man who knows the Lord’s grace reaching out to another foul man. It is the model of one man in hope reaching out to a brother.
Julia, Charlotte, James, my Lady, and Isaac, I love you all!
In the second chapter of Job we see verse 6 ‘And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.”’ The word “hand” in the Septuagint is “paradidōmi” meaning “to give into the hands (of another)”.
We see the same word used in a similar context in First Corinthians 5 verse 5 “you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh”.
In both cases this is rather uncomfortable for the person it is addressed to, Job and an unnamed person. But the goal is to be a blessing.
The plan for tonight in the anticipated voicemail is to expand on this. Like the other examples the goal is to be a blessing, not only to Isaac, but Julia, Charlotte, and James.
1Co 4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things.
